Retool breached after SMS phishing and a call using a deepfake of an employee's voice
Retool says an employee got an SMS phishing message on 27 August 2023, then a call from someone posing as IT who used a deepfake of a real employee's voice. The employee gave up one MFA code. The attacker reached internal admin tools and took over 27 cloud customer accounts, all in the crypto industry. Retool says on-premise customers were not affected.
