Mistral AI SDK releases on npm and PyPI were poisoned by the Mini Shai-Hulud worm
Mistral says the Mini Shai-Hulud worm, which spread from a compromise of the TanStack packages, published bad versions of its official SDKs through an affected developer device. The npm versions went up on May 11, 2026 and could not run as written; the PyPI release mistralai 2.4.6, live for about three hours on May 12, ran a credential-harvesting script on import on Linux. Mistral found no impact on its infrastructure or customer data.
